Alloy 20 is a nickel‑iron‑chromium austenitic alloy with outstanding resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and nitric acids. Its ~33% nickel content provides practical immunity to chloride stress corrosion cracking — a critical advantage over 316L. Molybdenum, copper, and niobium enhance pitting resistance and allow welded fabrication without post‑weld heat treatment.
