Pure nickel has a density of 8.9 g/cm³ and excellent polishability. The gossamer 0.025mm wire enables micro-springs and ultra-fine filters. It suffers negligible galvanic corrosion when coupled with stainless steel. Its vapor pressure is very low at high heat.
