Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276 / W.Nr 2.4819) is a nickel‑molybdenum‑chromium alloy with the addition of tungsten, offering universal corrosion resistance unmatched by most alloys. It is also known as Inconel® C‑276, Nicrofer 5716, and Superimphy 276. The alloy is resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, and is one of the few materials that withstands the corrosive effects of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide. It performs exceptionally well in ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, seawater, and brine solutions.
